Descriptions:
On my old machine, I could scan from my scanner directly to my desktop seamlessly. Now every time I scan from scanner itself by pressing the scan button on the front of my scanner to initiate scanning, it results in Foxit PDF Editor opening and popping a scanning window in Foxit PDF Editor, see below:
Is there anything I can disable to prevent Foxit from opening?
Solution:
The situation described above is caused by the settings in your scanner itself. Please follow the instructions below to reconfigure settings in your scanner for getting around the issue (Taking the HP scanner as an example):
1:From the "Control Panel", please select "View devices and printers".
2:In the window "Devices and Printers" that opens, scroll down to section "Printers", please right click on the HP scanner and select "Scan Properties" on the pop-up context menu (Note: make sure to select the "Scan Properties" rather than "Properties" option).
If there is no "Scanner Properties" option provided from the right-click context menu when you right-click on the HP scanner, please choose to right-click on your Computer icon under the "Devices" section from the "Devices and Printers" window, then choose "Scanner Properties" option in the pop-up context menu. For example, my existing computer PC name is CN-FZ-LLR, so I would right-click on the "CN-FZ-LLR" PC icon there.
3:In the opened scan properties window, please click on the "Events" tab, then please check the option "Start this program" and choose "HP Scan" from its drop-down menu to ensure your HP scanner is set to always launch the HP Scan application automatically.
Note: If you cannot bring up the HP scanner properties dialog box by the above-mentioned methods, we highly recommend you to further contact the technical support team of your HP scanner to know about how to set start action for your existing model of HP scanner.
