Descriptions
While you are trying to access iManage 9 from within Foxit PDF Editor with the 64-bit iManage Filesite or iManage DeskSite client already installed on your computer, you may still receive the following error message:
The Work extension library is not registered. Please install iManage 9 client.
(Note:if you don't have imanage9 client installed yet, please download and install it from imanage website)
Reason
The main program of Foxit PDF Editor itself is still compiled in 32-bit mode, it requires to call iManage client’s 32-bit Extension Libraries for accessing iManage 9. However, 64-bit iManage Desksite/FileSite client itself doesn’t register its 32-bit Extension Libraries on 64-bit windows operating system by default. So Foxit PhantomPDF would pop up error message when it fails in calling iManage client’s 32-bit Extension Libraries.
One of articles in iManage’s official knowledge base system explicitly states that 32-bit third-party program which attempts to use iManage client’s 32-bit Extent Libraries on 64-bit OS would fail unless Adobe Reader or professional is installed in the system, Manage doesn’t register the 32-bit extension libraries by default on 64-bit Desktop Clients. And iManage company still have no plans on changing how the iManage Filesite/DeskSite software is designed. To access the mentioned iManage article, you need to login to that site firstly with your iManage account. Solution
Fist you need to confirm if the iManage Desksite/FileSite client installed on computer is a 64-bit application? If yes, please navigate to Win32 folder under the main installation directory of Desksite/FileSite client to see if it contains relevant DLL files? If those relevant DLL files are not in Win32 folder, it means that iManage's 32-bit Extension Libraries haven’t been registered yet in system.

- b. A screenshot below which indicates that iManage has already registered its 32-bit Extension Libraries on 64-bit Windows operating system:
If a 64-bit iManage Desksite/FileSite client has already been installed without its 32-bit Extension Libraries being registered yet, you need to uninstall the existing installed iManage Desksite/FileSite client and manually create an ‘Adobe’ folder and ‘Adobe’ registry key ,then reinstall iManage Desksite/FileSite client back to make its 32-bit Extension Libraries to be registered on system. The specific steps are as follows:
1: Manually create a temporary ‘Adobe’ folder, for instance C:\Acrobat
2:Press Windows +R keys on keyboard to open the Run dialog box, enter regedit in the Open: box and select OK to open Windows Registry Editor. Create the following key chain in Windows Registry Editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\InstallPath
3:Under InstallPath ,please set the value of the (default) key to the temporal adobe folder. For instance:
(Default)=C:\Acrobat
4: Uninstall iManage Desksite/FileSite client from your system and reinstall iManage Desksite/FileSite client again, then its all 32 bits libraries should be registered.
5:Open Foxit PDF Editor,go to File>Open>Add a place>iManage 9 to work on PDF documents in iManage 9.
Note: You could delete the temporal ‘Adobe’ folder and ‘Adobe’ registry key if needs once you already have reinstalled iManage Desksite/FileSite client and got its 32 bits libraries registered successfully.
