What is Version Control?
Version control is a feature Foxit eSign offers through the Edit and Sign Permission. The permission is given to a person who will be reviewing a document before it is considered fully executed. With the Edit and Sign Permission, the recipient will remove any current signature on the document, edit other recipients' values in the fields, and send a new version of the document for signature to all recipients.
When to use Edit and Sign Permission
Version Control is used when you need a recipient to manage and monitor the content of the document to make sure it is filled out correctly. If a situation comes when a field is incorrectly filled out by another recipient, before it can be considered fully signed, the recipient with Edit and Sign Permission will be able to send out a new version of the document after editing.
Important: Editing a partially signed document will remove all signatures.
Add Edit Permission
- Before sending your document, give the Edit and Sign Permission to a recipient.
- During the signing process, the recipient can click More Actions then Edit Document(s).
- This will remove the current signatures on the document and the field values can be changed for any recipient.
- After editing and signing the document, a new link will be sent to the rest of the recipients for a new signature.
