Document Retention Policy Overview
Documents are retained on the Foxit eSign system while using the service, they can be downloaded at any time- We recommend setting up integrations to automatically back up documents as they are sent and executed as documents for inactive accounts will be removed from the service after a set period of time. Please see additional information regarding document retention for each account status below.

How to Download Documents
Trial Accounts
Non-paid trial account documents and related data may be permanently lost at the end of the trial period unless the customer either purchases a Foxit eSign subscription or exports such data before the end of the trial period.
Paid Accounts
Documents are stored on Foxit eSign servers for as long as the account is active. However, draft documents for paid accounts will be stored in the system only for 45 days unless the documents are sent for signing.
Canceled Accounts
In the case that an account discontinues its Foxit eSign subscription, the account and all the content (Documents, templates, online forms) related to the account are retained for up to 6 months after the cancellation is processed. Users will not be able to access any data or files after the termination of the account. The account can be reactivated within 3 months to access the data and continue the subscription.
How to Download Documents
It is recommended to utilize our integrations with Zapier to allow automated downloads of backups for executed documents while an account is active.

- Previously executed documents can be downloaded individually by clicking the Download PDF button when viewing the Document tab or via More Actions when viewing the document.
- Status reports may also be downloaded for all documents within a 30-day time span
- Excel reports for Shared, Partially Signed, and Executed documents containing the field values entered by recipients may be downloaded for a specific envelope(s) by searching for the name. This will download the form data for all envelopes sharing the searched name.
