You can use PIV Cards to Digitally Sign & Certify PDFs, as well as Digitally Encrypt PDFs/
Using your PIV Card with Foxit PDF Editor is extremely easy, simply apply a Digital Signature using Foxit PDF Editor and the software will prompt you to enter your card's PIN.
Here's how to apply Digital Signatures using your PIV Card with Foxit PDF Editor:
- Go to the Protect Tab
- Under "Signature" Select "Sign & Certify"
- Click on "Place Signature" to Digitally Sign or "Certify..." to Digitally Certify
- Draw a Box anywhere you'd like to place your signature.
- Select your Digital ID from the "Sign As" List
- Click "Sign"

Here you will see a "Windows Security" Window appear asking you to enter the PIN to unlock your PIV card.

Enter the PIN and you're done. You've successfully used Foxit PDF Editor to Digitally Sign a PDF using your PIV Card.
