Deploying a Customized Ribbon Toolbar

ISSUE

Beyond removing unused items from the Ribbon bar, an IT Admin also has the ability to completely customize the Ribbon bar.  

This is done to rearrange icons or change the default position of icons.

Create the customized Ribbon file

1. Right- click on the blank space to the right of the ribbon bar options. 
2. Select "Customize the Ribbon"
3. Commands can be moved from the left to tab indicators on the right ... and removed from the Ribbon altogether by moving the command back to the left list.  
4. For the new commands, a new Tab or new Group must be created.   Creating a new Tab also creates a New group.
5. Position your new Tab or Group in the order desired.
6. Move commands into your new Tab or Group, as desired.  
7. Once you have the Ribbon the way the users will interact with it, click EXPORT.  
8. Save the file RibbonCustom.xml.  Note that the name cannot change.  

Deploy using an MST input file

1. Download the Foxit Customization Wizard:  MST_Customization_Wizard
2. Run it and open the appropriate MSI installer
3. Under Files and Folder, traverse the list until:
   • Destination Computer / AppDataFolder / Foxit Software / Foxit PDF Editor
     • Note:  create Foxit PDF Editor, if needed, by Right-Click on Foxit Software / New
   • Highlight Foxit PDF Editor
   • In the blank space to the right, right-click and select Add
   • Navigate to the RibbonCustom.xml file created earlier
   • 
4. The RibbonCustom.xml will be located here: C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor
5. Save the MST file
6. Deploy per usual process
