If your subscription-based Foxit PDF Editor application such as Foxit PDF Editor V2023.3, doesn't display the Foxit Esign tab in the tabs bar, the Foxit Esign plugin has likely been disabled. Please choose one of the following methods to re-enable the Foxit Esign plugin:
- Enable it directly in the Foxit PDF Editor application
- Enable it via the Foxit PDF Editor registry key
- Use Group Policy Object (GPO)
- Use XML
Enable it directly in the Foxit PDF Editor application:
For individual users of Foxit PDF Editor, please navigate to the "Help" tab > "Foxit Plug-Ins" to open the "About Foxit Plug-Ins" dialog box. From the plugins list, find the "Foxit Sign" plugin, and enable it. Click "OK" to save the setting. Once the "Foxit Sign" plugin is enabled, restart your Foxit PDF Editor, and the "Foxit Esign" tab will reappear in the Foxit PDF Editor tabs bar.
Enable it via the Foxit PDF Editor registry key:
Press the Windows key + R to open a Run dialog box, type regedit.exe, and click OK. Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Continuous\plugins\Installed\FoxitInnerPluginFoxitSign
Set the value of "LoadBehavior" on the right panel to 9.
Use Group Policy Object (GPO):
Open Group Policy Editor, go to Computer Configuration or Users Configuration > Administrative Templates > Classic Administrative Templates.
Select Foxit PDF Editor, choose Plugins, and double-click the Remove Plugins option. Choose "Enabled", UNCHECK the "Foxit eSign“ item under the options, and click "OK" to save the setting.
If you have not yet imported the Foxit PDF Editor GPO template into your Group Policy Editor, please download and install it from this article.
Follow this article to download the appropriate Foxit Customization Wizard. Open the application, select XML Editor for Foxit PDF Editor, and click OK to enter XML editing mode.
Go to the Plugins tab and UNCHECK the Foxit eSign item under the Plugins list. Click the Save button in the top left corner to create an XML file, which will be named “ProfStore.xml” by default.
Distribute the XML file into the “ProfStore” folder located in the main installation folder of your Foxit PDF Editor. By default, the location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\ProfStore".
Restart Foxit PDF Editor to apply the XML file settings.
