Configuring Outlook: Setting Foxit PDF Editor as Default PDF Viewer and Disabling PDF Previews

1. To set Foxit PDF Editor as the default PDF viewer for Outlook, follow these steps:
a. Ensure Foxit PDF Editor is installed on your computer.
b. Open Windows Control Panel by clicking on the Start button and typing "Control Panel" in the search bar, then press Enter.
c. Click on "Programs" in the Control Panel, then select "Default Programs."
d. Click on "Set default programs."
e. Click on "Choose default application by file type", search for ".pdf," and then click on "Select default app" to set Foxit PDF Editor as the default PDF viewer.

Alternatively, you can specify the default application for the ".pdf" file type. To do this using the command line, run the following command: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\FoxitPDFEditor.exe" /register

2. If PDF previews are still enabled in Outlook after setting Foxit PDF Editor as the default viewer, follow these steps to disable them:
a. Open Outlook.
b. Click on "File" in the top left corner.
c. Select "Options."
d. In the "Outlook Options" window, click on "Trust Center" in the left pane.
e. Click on "Trust Center Settings" on the right side.
f. Click on "Attachment Handling" in the left pane of the "Trust Center" window.
g. Click on "Attachment and Document Previewers" on the right side.
h. In the "File Previewing Options" list, uncheck the box next to the previewer related to your PDF reader (e.g., "PDF Preview Handler", "Foxit Preview host for PDF PDF Preview Handler").
i. Click "OK" to save the changes and close the "Trust Center" window.
j. Click "OK" again to close the "Outlook Options" window.

Now, PDF previews should be disabled in Outlook. If you still see previews, try restarting Outlook and repeating the steps above.
