Background: Enterprise customers use SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager ) to deploy, update, and batch activate the Foxit PDF Editor. During this process, enterprise customers may encounter activation failure. The following are mainly possible causes and our solutions.
1 The Foxit Customization Wizard tool does not match the version of the Foxit PDF Editor
Cause Analysis: When using the Foxit Customization Wizard tool, its version must correspond to the same software version of Foxit PDF Editor.
Suppose the versions of the FCW tool and Foxit PDF Editor do not match. In that case, the activation will fail, or the configuration will become invalid when using the MST file created by the FCW tool for batch installation and activation.
How to obtain the version information of the Foxit Customization Wizard tool:
A. Right-click "Foxit Customization Wizard.exe";
b. Click Properties in the right-click menu;
C. Click the Details tab of the Properties dialog
d. The "File Version" attribute is the version number of the FCW tool.
Solution:
Obtain the corresponding version of the Foxit Customization Wizard tool, the download address is as follows:
https://kb.foxit.com/hc/zh-cn/articles/360040659931
If you still can't get the problem resolved, contact technical support and provide the following information:
a. Foxit Customization Wizard tool version information;
b. Foxit PDF Editor package name and version information;
2 The FPM Key file does not match the version of the Foxit PDF Editor
Cause analysis: The FPM Key file contains the "Restrictions=Ver:xx" field, which is used to specify the Editor's version. If the FPM Key file used for activation is inconsistent with the Editor version, activation will fail.
For example: if Foxit PDF Editor 12.x needs to be installed, the version information of the FPM key file is "Restrictions=Ver:12".
Case A: The license purchased by an enterprise customer specifies the version of Foxit PDF Editor, but the customer does not use the corresponding version of Foxit PDF Editor when installing.
Solution: Contact technical support personnel to obtain the specified version of Foxit PDF Editor.
Case B: When an enterprise customer purchases Foxit PDF Editor, the software version is 11.x; within the maintenance period, when the customer updates the software, he wants to use a new version of Foxit PDF Editor, such as Foxit PDF Editor 12.x.
Solution: Contact technical support personnel, confirm the order information and maintenance time of enterprise customers, and obtain the latest version of the license.
3 Batch activation software failed
Batch activation process: Use the FCW tool to embed the FPM key file to create an MST file; load the MST file when deploying software through SCCM to implement batch activation.
Reason for activation failure:
a. The Foxit Customization Wizard tool does not match the version of Foxit PDF Editor
b. The FPM Key file does not match the version of the Foxit PDF Editor
Solution: Please refer to points No.1 and No.2 for solutions.
4 Channels of Foxit PDF Editor and FPM Key files are inconsistent
Cause Analysis: Due to differences in distribution channels of Foxit PDF Editor, when the FPM key file is used to activate a non-specified release version of Editor, the activation will fail.
Solution: Contact technical support personnel to obtain the specified version of Foxit PDF Editor.
