The Reason for Signing feature presents a predetermined selection of reasons from which the recipient may select. In accordance with 21 CFR Part 11, a signer must be identified during the signing session. The reason for signing has an impact on the manifestation of the signature.
Recipients are asked to provide a signing reason. The signer intent is manifested on the Signature Certificate once the document is completed by all parties.
Enable Reason for Signing
- Select ‘Login Required by Signer’ from Security under the Settings tab.
- Select Yes for ‘Reason for Signing’.
- (Optional) Set ‘Signatures/Initials Require Password Validation’ to Yes.
